Wedding Proposal at the Grand Hotel Cap Ferrat, a Four Seasons Experience

Max & Catelin’s Proposal Story at the Four Seasons

We were honored to help orchestrate this surprise proposal for Caitlin on the French Riviera. On the day, we coordinated seamlessly with Max and the Grand-Hôtel du Cap-Ferrat team to create a truly magical moment. The Indian summer light was breathtaking, making this engagement and wedding session in Cap-Ferrat unforgettable

A Wedding Experience and Preparation at Four Seasons Cap-Ferrat, French Riviera

A Legendary Venue Seen Through Our Lens

There are few places on the French Riviera that capture the spirit of refined romance quite like the Four Seasons Grand-Hôtel du Cap-Ferrat. Perched on La Pointe Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat, this legendary palace overlooks the Mediterranean with an elegance that feels timeless. We had the privilege of photographing Max and Caitlin’s proposal here: an intimate, emotional moment set against the cliffs, the sparkling sea, and the lush hotel gardens. The warm glow of sunset over the horizon offered unique opportunities for photography and film, each corner of the property revealing a different, unforgettable perspective. Whether it’s a proposal, an elopement, or a full wedding celebration, this venue elevates every story, turning every intimate glance, every fleeting moment, into a cinematic memory.

The Setting: Where Luxury Meets the Mediterranean

The Grand-Hôtel du Cap-Ferrat sits at the very end of the peninsula, with unobstructed sea views and private access to the Chemin des Douaniers, the coastal path that winds along the cliffs. This combination of natural beauty and exclusivity makes it one of the best wedding venues in St Jean Cap-Ferrat. The hotel’s gardens are ideal for quiet, intimate moments, while the iconic Club Dauphin, accessible by a private funicular, offers a dramatic seaside backdrop, elegant yet effortless. It’s also one of the most practical luxury venues on the Riviera, thanks to its discreet access and proximity to Nice and Monaco. For couples who value privacy, sophistication, and the Riviera’s golden light, this location is truly unmatched.

Preparation and Planning Tips

When planning a wedding or proposal at Four Seasons Cap-Ferrat, timing and light are everything. The Riviera sun changes character throughout the day: soft pastels in the morning, vibrant blues at noon, and warm golden hues in the evening. For Max and Caitlin, we chose to photograph their moment just before sunset, when the light reflects on the sea and creates a dreamy, cinematic glow. The cliffs surrounding the hotel filter the light beautifully, wrapping the couple in a warm, romantic atmosphere — perfect for both photos and film. If you’re planning a wedding here, coordinate with your wedding planner and photographer to build your schedule around light. Golden hour sessions on the terraces or by the infinity pool of Club Dauphin are absolutely magical.

Photography & Videography at Cap-Ferrat

The Four Seasons Cap-Ferrat is a dream location for any French Riviera wedding photographer or videographer. Our experience at the property has shown us how beautifully the architecture interacts with the landscape. For couples planning a wedding photoshoot in St Jean Cap Ferrat, here are a few tips: Use the Chemin des Douaniers for natural, coastal imagery with cliffs and sea spray, but be mindful of opening hours and drone regulations. The path is partly private, so drone flights are not permitted when guests are present at the Club Dauphin. Additionally, with planes frequently passing from the nearby airport, drone conditions can be very tricky, careful planning is essential. Plan a few intimate portraits in the gardens at sunrise or late afternoon for softer tones. When filmed with attention to movement, light, and emotion, a high-end wedding film here becomes a poetic memory — elegant, luminous, and timeless.
